Annie

Approximate Age (As of 2017): Between 12-15 years Breed: Dilute Tortie/American Curley Tail Status: Blind Date Arrived: 2010 Arrival Location: North Carolina Annie came to us as an older cat that had some hard times in her life. We know her previous owner (Diane) adopted her from Animal Control where she had been dumped by another previous owner. Sadly her new owner Diane was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 breast cancer and passed away not long after. Diane’s husband, not being an animal person, wanted her pets gone. Her friends stepped in and found homes for all of Diane’s pets but could not find a home for Annie. One of our local Animal Cruelty Officers knew about Annie and a sked if we could take her in. Annie is a super sweet and loving cat. She likes to sit your lap and will never turn down a can of wet food. She gets along with everyone, and though older still plays like a kitten.

7/17/18 This is a letter that I am stunned to be writing this morning. Staff found Annie laying in the litter box screaming in pain. She could not stand. We rushed her immediately to the vet. Sadly I knew what the vet was going to say to me. Saddle thrombosis. She had thrown a clot. When we got to the vet her feet were cold, there were no femoral pulses, there is no fixing this. I held her in my arms as she crossed the rainbow bridge. Annie was a sweet old lady who loved to cuddle in the banana beds. We were blessed to have spent the last 8 years with her. We will miss her sweet disposition and cute curly tail. I am sorry Alana
